PHILOSOPHY OF TREATMENT AND CARE:
River Run Day Treatment is a non-profit adolescent day treatment program located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Provo, Utah.  River Run is a unique relationship-based, family-driven program for adolescents who are struggling with Substance Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health related disorders.   The program is designed to help the student stabilize and refocus their attention in a positive direction.  River Run will provide structure and daily accountability through a full day of school, therapeutic recreation, and individual, group and family therapy.

CLIENTELE AND LENGTH OF STAY:
A program for adolescent girls and boys ages 12 to 17, River Run typically works with clients who are experiencing one or more of the following:  Anxiety Disorders (Panic, Obsessive Compulsive, Posttraumatic Stress Disorders), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Mood Disorders (Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Dysthymia), Substance Abuse Issues, and other mental health related disorders.  The length of stay is 30 to 90 days.

EDUCATION:
The on-campus year round program provides an educational opportunity for students in grades 7-12 and is fully accredited (NWAC).  School credits earned by our students are easily transferred to all accredited high schools in Utah and to others in the region also accredited by NWAC.  The goal of the school program is to test and evaluate students, identify individual educational needs, and facilitate a positive school placement.  While in treatment, students have the opportunity to reach academic goals, experience a positive learning environment, and earn academic credits.  Classroom size is limited to 12 students.  Our teacher is Utah state certified.

CLINICAL SERVICES:
River Run offers individual psychotherapy, family therapy, substance abuse groups, and daily group psychotherapy.  Each family will be involved in designing a Master Treatment Plan (MTP) for their student.  Family therapy, parent groups, and education classes are mandatory for parents of students at River Run.

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION:
Therapeutic recreation is an important component of the treatment program.  Teaching adolescents appropriate skills to manage their leisure time as well as teaching them essential life skills improves the overall success of treatment.  Therapeutic recreation groups, leisure education, life skills groups, daily challenge groups, and a wide variety of recreational activities such as equestrian, swimming, rock climbing, sports, etc., are all part of the Therapeutic Recreation program.
